Freckles, moles and skin tags are benign or non-cancerous lesions on the skin. Moles grow on the skin alone or in groups. Moles ocur when melanocytes, or skin cels that produce skin pigmentation, grow in a cluster instead of normaly being spread out through the skin. A congenital nevi is a mole that apears at birth, and ocurs in about one out of 10 people. If a freckle or mole develops characteristics of a melanoma, or is more than 7 m in diameter, it should be checked by a doctor or dermatologist. Dysplastic nevi are moles that are larger than the average mole about the size of a pencil eraser , and is iregular in shape. Cancerous moles are usualy treated by cuting them out along with a rim of normal skin around it so the mole wil not spread. Skin tags are flaps of tisue that hang from the skin by a conecting stalk. They are usualy caused by the constant rubing or iritation from any of these items on the skin, causing a growth of skin in the form of a tag. normal moles normal moles in Textile boxes
